Hello to a busy work week last week.

Hello to going shooting with the boys on Saturday. I survived. Angry Kid got to take his revenge out on zombies?

My family has a weird zombie obsession, does yours?

The newest warrior to defeat the zombies. He looks so proud. #zombieapocolypseHello to my husband’s new favorite photo. This photo has so many things going on in it.

Hello to Angry Kid waking up at 5am on Sunday morning. Angry Kid went on a cleaning frenzy on Sunday starting with his closet. He then went and cleaned the toilets in both of the bathrooms in the house. He is quite random.

I'm in the land of pretty food. I have no clue on what to but here. I also feel like I should have driven a Prius instead of my Tahoe.Hello to Whole Foods. Or as my BFF Stacey likes to call it, “Whole Paycheck”. Everything looked so pretty and shiny. And ouch the prices! I felt odd driving my Tahoe there.

Hello to Angry Husband’s recent Celiac diagnosis. Goodbye to Gluten.

Insta Friday

Hello There! I thought that I would join in on today’s Insta-Friday held over at Life Rearranged.

Here are some of the photos that I have taken this week. It has been CRAZY busy as usual….

Angry Kid is sporting @elislids newest edition, the fedora. It goes well with his soccer uniform, doesn't it?
Angry Kid is modeling one of Eli’s Lids newest products, a Fedorable. Yep, doesn’t he look cute with his fedora and um, soccer uniform? Angry Kid has a VERY large head. I was laughing when Kara gave me the hat. I tried it on and explained that I have the same size head as Angry Kid. Nobody believes me, but you can see here how big his “little” head is.

Happy Valentine's Day to me. Yogurtland after doing paperwork all day at work.
A little Valentine’s Day treat for myself.

Tis' the 15th of the month. #meon15 #febphoto366
Me on 15! A little random participation in Feb Photo 366.

My mommy got me two pieces of vintage aqua colored Pyrex with the farmer print for Valentine's Day. Husband does not get it. Giggle!
I am 36 years old and my mom still gets me Valentine’s Day gifts. I think that this gift is even better than chocolate. Vintage Pyrex in the butternut pattern, in AQUA!

Went to @teraraestephens this morning to get my hair done. As usual, she fixed my hot mess!!! The before photo was taken last night. Six months into Operation Pixie Grow Out!
Project Pixie Grow Out. I NEEDED some color bad. My roots were beyond scary. Tera also cut off my mullet. My hair is growing out nicely and she cut it to be like a bob. Yippee, my hair looks almost normal now.

Cirque Du Soleil’s OVO

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of attending Cirque Du Soleil’s OVO in Santa Monica.  This is the second Cirque show that I have attended. I went with my BFF, Stacey. I had never been to Santa Monica, so I made Stacey drive, because she knows Los Angeles better.

Right away, I was in awe. Cirque had their big top set up in the parking lot right on the beach in Santa Monica, adjacent to the Pier. It was a beautiful view walking to the venue.

Cirque Du Soleil OVO

After entering the Big Top, we headed towards our seats. After sitting down, we noticed a very large egg in the middle of the stage. There is NO PHOTOGRAPHY ALLOWED, but I snuck a little picture before the show started.

Getting ready to see #OVO @Cirque with @mommastacekat. Adults only day out.

What is OVO? What is this show about?

OVO, meaning “egg” in Portuguese, is a headlong rush into a colorful ecosystem teeming with life, where insects work, eat, crawl, flutter, play, fight and look for love in a non-stop riot of energy and movement.

When a mysterious egg appears in their midst, the insects are awestruck and intensely curious about this iconic object that represents the enigma and cycles of their lives. It is love at first sight when a gawky, quirky insect arrives in this bustling community and a fabulous ladybug catches his eye – and the feeling is mutual.

OVO features many acrobatic acts including a stunning flying trapeze act: Six flyers fly as high as 14 m, making this act the biggest of its kind ever presented under a Grand Chapiteau by Cirque du Soleil. This act is the most difficult in the world to execute in terms of the distance between stations. It combines many circus disciplines: banquine, Russian swing and swinging chair. The finale features 20 artists running, jumping and leaping straight up an 8-meter vertical wall.

Cirque Du Soleil’s Show OVO was amazing. It was only the second Cirque show that I have seen but they just keep getting better. I was in awe the entire time. Stacey and I kept whispering about how long it takes them to learn certain skills, practices, etc. I do not have that time of commitment in me.

Here is a little preview video of OVO that I found via YouTube. Seriously, you need to go see this show!

My favorite part of OVO was the Ants and their foot juggling. Seriously, they were AMAZING!!! They were quite impressive with those kiwis.

Cirque Du Soleil’s OVO will be playing in Santa Monica until Sunday, March 25th, 2012.

Tickets are still available.

Disclosure: I was provided with two complimentary tickets to see Cirque Du Soleil’s OVO. I was not compensated for this post with any additional payments. All opinions are mine.

Wordless Wednesday: A Day at USC

On Sunday, Angry Kid and I made the trek into LA to go to USC (University of Southern California) with my BFF, Stacey and her family. Stacey’s ‘s daughter, Stella, was going to be participating in a Junior Song Girl Clinic and also performing in the Half Time Show of the USC vs. Stanford basketball game that same day.

Angry Kid has been a USC Fan since birth. I didn’t attend USC but my college did not have a football team so we adopted USC through Stacey’s husband, Carlos, who is a USC Alum.  Stella and Angry Kid have always had cute little USC outfits etc. This was their first excursion together on the campus.

Once you see the pictures, you will see how much fun that they had!

Oh, and the kids are only two months apart. Stella is older, and perhaps a little taller. But Stacey and I are in trouble, aren’t we? I wish I could bottle up all this cuteness!

Happy Valentine’s Day!!

Wishing Everyone A Happy Valentine’s Day Today!

Most Eligible Bachelor! Happy Valentine's Day from Angry Kid! #febphoto366 #valentinesday

I volunteered in Angry Kid’s class today. We split the 1st graders into three different groups. They each had a project to do. Our project was sewing this puppy puppet with yarn. It was super complicated for the kids to figure out so most of the puppets were sewn by the moms. I thought it was super cute though.

Angry Kid's Valentine's Cards are all done! Very fishy! Thanks @Pinterest!
We chose to do these Fish Bowl Valentine’s from PBJandJ which I found through Pinterest and Etsy.  I wonder how many other moms did Valentine’s Day Cards via a blog or Pinterest idea? I gave Angry Kid several options and he picked these. I just had to figure out how many Swedish Fish to buy. Seriously, it required a mathematical equation for Swedish Fish. Luckily Target had a 1.9 Lb. bag.

Hope Your Day is Great! Don’t Eat Too Much Chocolate!

Hello Monday

Hello Monday.

Hello to chaos and not being caught up. I’m going to try and work on all of my unfinished projects this week. Unsure if I will get them done. I’ve been swamped with work lately. In my spare time, I’ve had other commitments that have prevented me from editing photos, blogging, etc.

Valentine's Day Cupcake
Hello cupcake!

Hello to seeing blogging friends at an afternoon luncheon at Tiffany’s house last week. Tiffany introduced us to some local businesswomen last week, along with some delicious food and cupcakes of course.

Another lunch while working. @WahoosFishTaco eating some chicken tacos, chips, and salsa. iPhone food blogger, lolz.
Hello to lunch at Wahoo’s. One of my favorite restaurants. I love their chicken tacos.

Yep, it was an @Pinterest night. I made the Cinnamon Bear Popcorn. Not bad. A little sticky like Rice Krispy Treats sticky.
Hello to Pinterest Recipes, like this one for Cinnamon Bear Popcorn. My son was obsessed with it. I made it for a Valentine’s Party at Jaime’s. I came home from the party with so many fun homemade gifts.

A very large 1.9 pound bag of Swedish fish. Buying this involved some math equations.
Hello Swedish Fish. This VERY LARGE bag of Swedish Fish is for my son’s Valentine’s. The purchase of this bag actually required a math equation. 32 kids, 4 fish for each Valentines, how many boxes or bags do I need?

Angry Kid and I are ready for the USC basketball game that we are going to today with @stacekat. #FightOn
Hello USC!
We went to USC (University of Southern California) with my BFF, Stacey and her family. Stacey’s daughter was doing a Song Girl Camp for a few hours, and then they were going to perform at a USC basketball game. Angry Kid was in heaven. He is a huge Trojan fan now. Note to self: start savings bags of money for tuition, like yesterday!

**********

Hello to a brand new week. Hopefully I can get some of these blog posts done (at least 10 in draft), photos edited, and maybe some of my laundry done?

Hello Monday.

Hello Work Week.

Wordless Wednesday: Live Creatively

My life is quite busy right now with my family, work, and everything else going on. But I have made time to do some crafts and sewing projects. Seriously, I get in the “craft zone” and it completely de-stresses me. I tune everything and everyone out and do some kind of project while watching a movie, or even Hulu on my computer in the home office.

I attended the Craft & Hobby Association Winter Trade Show, otherwise known as #CHAShow last week and it totally inspired me. I have all of these new projects that I want to do, brewing in my head. If only I could find the time, money, supplies for all of these projects.

I took a picture of a this display at CHA, and it totally makes me smile now. And really, who could go wrong with bright colors, a painted frame, chalkboard, and bunting?

Let’s Connect and Subscribe

A few weeks ago I had these nifty new social media icons done by a wonderful seller that I found on Etsy. Natalie from Moxie Tonic customized them to match my blog and I think they look rather pretty.

I’m not sure if you have heard but they are cancelling the Google Friend Connect service soon for non-Blogger users. I’ve been having a ton of problems with my GFC widget recently as it is. I have over 700 people subscribed on GFC that need to switch over to RSS.  I have also included the other places that you can find me below.

So if you don’t want to lose me in your daily reader and miss out on my randomness, subscribe via RSS!
