Easter at Chasing Fireflies

One of my favorite companies, Chasing Fireflies recently gave me the opportunity to review some of their products for Easter.  Not only do they have cute clothing, but they have super awesome decorations and gifts for the Holiday.

Easter Basket Goodies
My son is almost seven years old, so it is getting really hard to find items for his Easter basket.  I try to refrain from putting candy in his basket.  So I chose some items from Chasing Fireflies that my son would like.  He is very creative lately, and I know that he will love all of the things that I selected.

Eggstra Funny Bunny

This cute little egg bunny has grass for hair. It is a great little gift that can sit on your kitchen counter while it is growing.

Easter Grass Kit

I just need to find our Easter basket and then plant the seeds for the grass. I think this will be a great little starter science project for my son too.

Easter Mad Libs

I love Mad Libs.  I remember doing these all the time as a kid. This one is a cute version with stickers and pictures included inside.

50 Easter Things To Make and Do
50 Easter Things To Make and Do

This book is full of all kinds of craft projects to do. Many of them are also Spring-related. I might have to start doing some of these soon with my son. There are some super cute ideas.

Be sure to check out Chasing Fireflies website, Facebook Page, and Twitter account for more Easter Gift Ideas.

Wordless Wednesday: Bloggy Boot Camp Day

I’m celebrating Bloggy Boot Camp Day today with SITS Girls! This is the two year anniversary of education and networking through Bloggy Boot Camp. I’ve had the pleasure of attending, speaking at, and photographing three Bloggy Boot Camps and I thought I would share some highlights of the conferences through my photos.

Bloggy Boot Camp is my favorite blog conference that I have attended. And believe me, I have attended several conferences. The education and networking connections that I have made through Bloggy Boot Camp have made me more confident with my blog, and the relationships with bloggers that I met through the conferences are invaluable.

Bloggy Boot Camp will be making four stops this year in St. Louis, Philadelphia, Dallas, and Vegas.  You can’t beat the $99 price point for this one-day conference.

Today, SITS Girls will be giving away some awesome prizes over on Twitter, just make sure to look for the hashtag #bloggybootcamp.

Hello Monday, Crafting, and Gaming

Hello Monday! Hello Brand New Week!

Hello Hectic Life. Can you tell that I’ve been busy?

My post is totally late tonight.

Hello to Angry Husband being out of town for two weeks.

Hello new shoes.

No coincidence about husband being out of town and the new shoes. Ok maybe, just a little one.

I bought myself a little present @Homegoods today. Love me some shoes!
Hello Angry Bird.
How did you get there way up high in the ceiling fan?
An Angry Bird is stuck in our ceiling fan. I guess the kid threw it up there earlier this week. We have tall ceilings too. Hilarious!
Hello Crafty Kid!
He wanted me to make masks with him. We, well more he than me, make masks with paper and popsicle sticks.
Whatever works, it kept him busy.
Making masks with Angry Kid. I was tagged by @wmgg to show what I am doing right now.

Hello Gamer!
In between all of his crafts, he found time for some games.
XBox and the iPad.
Angry Kid, The Gamer

Hello Lazy Weekend.
I worked part of the weekend, while Angry Kid hung out with my parents.
On Sunday, I cleaned all day. Not-so-much fun for the kid.
I promised him a new video game if he was good while we ran errands.
He picked more crafts instead of a video game.
I caught the kid mid-craft. He is also making me do Perler Beads. I am doing a cupcake one.

Hello to Little Gamer-Crafter.
My BFF asked me if my son was ever not crafting or gaming?
I had to seriously think about it. He likes to read, and run.
Angry Kid really is a combo of Angry Husband and me. So much it is scary!

************

Maybe I will actually blog something this week since my house is still clean.

If I ever find the time to edit my photos, etc.

I’m a total blog slacker lately.

Hello Monday, almost Tuesday!

Medieval Times Premieres New Show

Last month I attended the premiere night of Medieval Times new show. This was not my first time at Medieval Times. Having grown up in Southern California, I have attended shows there several times. I actually spent my 30th birthday there.

I went with my husband, son, and my friend, Janice, whom was in town from Canada. My son has been there previously but attended with my parents time.  Now that he is six, going on seven, I knew that he would have a better understanding of the show.

This is the first time that Medieval Times has debuted a new show in five years. The writers in the Medieval Times corporate office polled fans on the website and Facebook page for content for the new show. They wanted the fans to give input on what they wanted in a show. The fans replied that they wanted more action!

When arriving at Medieval Times, we were given our team color, which was blue. This would indicate where we would be seated. We were all given blue crowns, and we took a picture with the princess. We were then directed towards our seating.

Medieval Times, Buena Park 2012
All of the Knights were led out onto the field and introduced.  We got to see and cheer for our Blue Knight!

Medieval Times, Buena Park 2012
Angry Kid was mesmerized by the jousting, fighting, sword fighting, and a performing horse.

We were served a delicious dinner which consisted of Tomato Bisque, Focaccia Bread with Olive Oil and Seasoning, Oven-Roasted Chicken,Larger BBQ Spare Rib, Herb-Basted Potato Split into Two Quarters, and Braided Apple Strudel which we ate sans utensils. They also accommodate vegetarians and food allergies.  I was laughing because Janice was unsure about eating her food without utensils. She even brought some contraband (plastic utensils) with her. But she survived and ate with her hands. Seriously, the food was delicious and there was so much I couldn’t even eat half of it.

Medieval Times, Buena Park 2012
Medieval Times was highly entertaining and the food was great. I was quite proud of myself also for preparing ahead of time. When I went for my birthday, ummm six years ago, I had a REALLY bad asthma attack. It seems that the hay and horses were not good for my allergies and asthma. I prepared ahead of time and took some medication. I had no issues.

I found a great YouTube video which features the commercial that Medieval Times is airing on television to advertise their new show. It almost looks like a movie preview, it is soo good.

This show will eventually premiere at all of the Medieval Times locations. We viewed it at the Buena Park location in Orange County, CA. If you are visiting Orange County, or even live here, it is a great event to bring the family to. The kids love Medieval Times.

Disclosure: I was provided tickets to attend this event via Medieval Times. All of the photos and opinions in this post are mine. The video is from Medieval Times.

Wordless Wednesday: Learning About Photo Editing

I admit it, I use Picnik.com for photo editing. I’m super lazy, and super busy. Picnik will be going away in early April, and I am SUPER sad about that. I should have figured out Photoshop, Lightroom, Elements, etc. long ago, but I did not. So now I’m trying to catch up and learn another program. I have Lightroom and Photoshop Elements installed on my Macbook, but I have never used them.

Seriously, I have no time to do this right now, but I have to learn.  So I will be reading every tutorial and book that I can.

Wish me luck!!!

Hello Monday

Hello Monday!

Hello to March this week, Goodbye to February!

Hello to Angry Kid doing “chores” without being asked. Last week it was closet organizing and toilet scrubbing. This past weekend, he brought in the trash without being asked, because it was blocking my car.

The kid brought in the trash cans this morning without me asking. He saw that the trash peeps had already been by & that the cans were blocking my car.

Hello to feeling like a kid again and wearing my favorite shoes.

What? You don’t have Asics with Hello Kitty on them?

I am freeeee from work! Yippee! Time to put on some @Sanrio Asics that I heart! #shoes #febphotoaday

Hello to Angry Kid refusing pictures.
This is nothing new. This is what happens when your mom is a blogger.

This would be the "STOP taking pictures of me" pose @WahoosFishTacos
Hello 24 Hour Fitness.
Hello treadmill and Oscars on the TV.
I figured I was watching The Oscars on my couch, why not workout while still watching the show.

Me, The Gym, and The Oscars.

Hello, how do I even survive the weekends?

I work on Saturday, after we had soccer. Yep, our last AYSO game for the Winter Season.

Hello to sleeping in on Saturdays.

A busy week ahead.

Two trips to LAX, the airport, within one week.

Rain today.

Will I survive the last week of February?

Please tell me that I’m not the only one who has CRAZY BUSY weekends, and is way too busy to blog lately?

Wordless Wednesday: Chapter Books

Angry Kid is in first grade. Unbeknownst to us, he was/is a great reader. He is plowing through chapter books. I took this photo tonight while he was reading his book for homework. The book was 36, yes thirty-six pages. Ye gads!!

5 Things You Might Not Know

Megan tagged me on Instagram with this little meme.

I had to figure out 5 Things That You Might Not Know About Me.

5 Things...You Might Not Know About Me tagged by @wmgg. I'm also tagging @bringingupburns @cuppakim @modchik @cupcakescutlery @ragstostitches

So if you have been wondering why I’m barely around, and rarely blogging…look at #1!!

Seriously, this was fun doing this. And I hand wrote my list. I’m fancy like that. I read Gone with the Wind in 5th grade. I think I’ve read it at least 10 times by now. I gave up monster Energy drinks when I found myself drinking too many. I love me some rap and I work way too much. Oh, Angry Husband is a left handed also.
